Food for thought

How can we talk about sustainable food in a way that is accessible, rigorous, and engaging? This event offers a friendly gathering bringing together master’s students in journalism and master’s students in scientific research to discuss the scientific, social, and cultural issues connected to the food we eat.

The first part of the evening will take the form of a participatory roundtable and a live podcast recording. Journalists and scientists will discuss the challenges of communicating scientific knowledge to the general public: how to make information clear, reliable, and accessible while maintaining a critical perspective on current food-related issues.

In the second part of the event, participants will continue the discussion through food. International students will be invited to bring a specialty or product representative of their country in order to share their culinary traditions and open discussions on different perspectives of sustainable food around the world. This informal exchange will create an opportunity to share experiences, cultures, and viewpoints in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The event is designed to be interactive, friendly, and open to anyone interested in better understanding the connections between science, media, and food.
